Bio

Deborah Huelsbergen teaches a variety of classes in graphic design, calligraphy/hand lettering, foundations in design for non majors and classes in the Honor's College.  Deborah is a partner in a design studio with Ric Wilson. They specialize in doing design work for clients in the not-for-profit sector, specifically social service organizations. Their clients come from all over the United States, Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa. They believe in doing excellent design work for organizations that are working every day to make a difference in the lives of people.

Deborah also makes mandalas in a variety of materials and designs calligraphic and hand lettered alphabets.

Deborah has been the recipient of several awards including an MU Faculty Alumni Award, the Southeastern College Art Conference (SECAC) Award for Excellence in Teaching, a William T. Kemper Award for Outstanding Teaching, a Campus Writing Program Writing Intensive Teaching Excellence Award, the MU Excellence in Advising Award, two Arts and Science Blue Chalk Awards for Advising, the Woodhouse Award for Exceptional Achievements in Teaching, Research and Service, and the Excellence in Education Award.
