Sarah Arriagada (she/her) is a PhD student in Visual Studies at the University of Missouri. She holds a Meisterschüler degree (MFA) in Fine Arts from the Berlin University of the Arts (2010) and an MA in Art Therapy from the Berlin-Weißensee Academy of Art (2014).
Her interdisciplinary research explores the intersections of art history and art therapy with a particular focus on the therapeutic potential of encounters with artworks. She is interested in how structured engagement with art can facilitate psychological processes and contribute to individual and collective well-being.
Arriagada's work has been exhibited internationally, including in New York, Berlin, Hamburg, and London. She has curated numerous exhibitions, including Tightly Knit, Loose Fit at Ortega y Gasset Projects (Brooklyn, 2023) and TRICKSTER at Westwerk (Hamburg, 2026). She is also a co-author of 75 Therapiekarten: Kunsttherapeutische Interventionen (Beltz, 2025).
