Once you have received an internship, program majors can enroll in the appropriate SVS internship course to receive course credit:

Requirements & Internship Hours

Requirements

You must currently be a declared major to enroll in the course. For instance, Digital Storytelling majors can receive credit for a qualifying internship under the course title DST VS 4940.

Internship Hours

You can earn 1-3 credit hours for any one internship based on the length of hours you complete for your internship.

40 hour internship= 1 credit

80 hour internship= 2 credits

120 hour internship= 3 credits

You may repeat the internship up to 6 credit hours.

Steps to Earn Credit

1. Identify a SVS faculty member to be your internship supervisor.

2. Complete the Online Internship Application.

3. Once your application has been received and approved, you will receive a course permission number. Use that number to register for the appropriate course in MyZou.

4. Check in with your SVS faculty mentor for an overview of course expectations.

5. Complete all course assignments available on Canvas.
