Undergraduate Scholarships FAQ
Who is eligible for SVS Scholarships?
All currently enrolled BA and BFA majors with at least one semester left until graduation.
Who is not eligible?
Incoming Freshman and Seniors graduating this spring. You also must be a major.
Are there any scholarships open to Film and DST students?
Unfortunately, most scholarship funds were created before the creation of the School of Visual Studies and focus on Art majors. The Stealey School of Visual Studies Merit Scholarship is the only scholarship currently open to all SVS majors, not just at.
Is there a GPA requirement for SVS scholarships?
While most scholarships require good academic standing (GPA 3.0 and above) there are some exceptions! Specifically the Redford Michael Perrine Scholarship can only be awarded to a student with a lower GPA (B/C; 2.0-3.0) but who still demonstrates excellence in the field of art.
How is financial need determined?
Financial need is an official term and is defined by the Financial Aid office. In short, You Must have submitted FAFSA. You must have “Medium to High Need” as shown by FAFSA.
Are there any media specific scholarships?
Yes! There are two scholarships (Michael C. Niles & Cameron) that prioritize Printmaking. Drawing students also eligible. The Matthew Fahey Cox Ceramics is for Juniors and Seniors focused on ceramics/pottery.
