Jean Brueggenjohann is a professor in the graphic design media area. Her early research was centered in design for print, primarily book design for non-profit and foundation clients. She designed the Harvard University Art Museums, A Guide to the Collections for the Harvard Art Museums, which include the Fogg Art Museum, Arthur M. Sackler Museum and Busch-Reisinger Museum collections. She has worked for such clients as Milton Bradley, Co., creating The Incredible Hulk Game board and box design, The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, Glenco Publishing, a Division of Macmillan Publishing and Interurban Press. She was staff art director at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum.

Most recently she has been creating studio art quilts for exhibition. Her work has been published in many books and periodicals and has been exhibited numerous times in The National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY among many other national and international venues. She is happiest creating work that combines her love of illustration and traditional quilting patterns.

She has won numerous awards for her work for both graphic design and studio art quilts. She was chair of the Art Department for eight years.
