Tara Rindt is a sophomore studying film production and works as an intern with the Missouri Theater.

We asked Tara to tell us a bit about herself and her experiences working at the Missouri theatre.

I am a sophomore studying film production. As for specialty, I really enjoy editing and postproduction work.

I started my internship in January and my primary job is to make commercials for television and social media about upcoming events presented by the Missouri Concert Series. I do more editing and research-based work but hopefully I can get a camera out within the next couple weeks! The groups who are performing at the Missouri Theater will sometimes send in music, photos, or video to use in commercials. I try to use as much of their content they send me but most of the time I must find additional pieces to add in.

Below I will send a link to my MePhoto of Tara at Missouri Theatredium blog site where I go into a little more detail by project, but in general I make a 30 second and 15 second commercial for each show.

I write scripts and work with our voice over artist to create interesting and engaging audio. After that, it's kind of like putting together a puzzle! I enjoy the challenge of some of these projects and have been pushing myself to learn different editing techniques.

One of my biggest hurdles I overcame this semester was teaching myself how to use photoshop with Adobe premiere and make still images come to life. You can read a little bit more about that in my blog post, “Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine.”

Outside of commercial work, I also created a quick 6-minute video outlining the tasks for maintenance/cleaning of the Missouri Theater.Tara camera operating The video impressed many of the people at the theater and if we have time, we may make more videos like this for other departments to help with the training process for new team members. The Missouri Theater staff have been wonderful to work with and have been very flexible with my class schedule. I am so grateful for opportunities like this to receive critique and grow in my craft!

Here is the link to my Medium blog and this weekend I will be updating it with some more stories about recent projects! https://medium.com/@taravideo
