Bingham Gallery is pleased to present a new exhibition featuring sixteen graduating BFA & BA students from the University of Missouri School of Visual Studies. Together, Separately is a collection of diverse media ranging from fibers to video to ceramics. With so much of their college careers being overshadowed by the global Covid pandemic, these seniors have experienced their studies together, yet separate and distanced. As classes began to resume in person and smiles began replacing masks, a new appreciation for friends, family, communities, and life emerged. Paralleling this same energy, Together, Separately is testimony to the greatness born from human connection. This show highlights each seniors’ individual talents, but ultimately, connects them, emphasizing a hopeful end on this chapter of their lives, and a celebration upon entering a new one. Together, Separately also creates a sense of connection for the audience, generating conversations about technology, identity, social constructs, family, and more.
