Reception: Friday, April 12, 4:30-6:30PM

The University of Missouri’s George Caleb Bingham Gallery presents MFA candidate Devin McDonald’s solo thesis exhibition, A Ship Set Sail from Me, which is comprised of ceramic sculptures and clay installations. Adapted from Alejandra Pizarnik’s poem, “to explain with words from this world/ that a ship set sail from me and took me with her”, the collection of works expresses poetry in three dimensions, dealing with themes of fragility and strength, loss, and memory.

Devin holds a BA in Visual Arts from Eckerd College and is a candidate in Ceramics at the University of Missouri. She is from Fort Collins, Colorado where she taught and worked alongside a group of artists for five years at Smokestack Pottery before returning to school.
