Seth Compaoré completed his Ph.D in French and Francophone Cinema (Romance Languages) at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2020. He is currently an adjunct instructor of World Cinema in the School of Visual Studies at MU. His research interests include accents in Francophone sub-Saharan Cinema, border crossing and migrations in French and Francophone films. His most recent publications include “À république séculaire, public pluriel : Abd Al Malik rappe sa transnationalité et sa transmusicalité,” in French Cultural Studies (2020) and "Male bodily poetics in André Téchiné’s Quand on a 17 ans (2016): physical violence and teenage passion.” (André Téchiné, 2016) in Queer(y)ing bodily norms in francophone culture: transformation, fragmentation and aestheticization (2021).
